Packing List Generator

Pick the trip type and length. Get a checklist you can tick off and print.

Most packing lists are either too generic to be useful or so specific they only work for one trip. This one adapts: choose what kind of trip you are taking, how long for, and whether you need to carry it all yourself. Tick items off as you pack — the list saves in this browser.

Your list

The rule that beats any list

  1. 01Lay everything out, then remove a third of it. Almost everyone carries too much on their first trip.
  2. 02Pack for the coldest, wettest hour you expect — not for the average.
  3. 03Choose clothes that work in layers and can be worn two days running without washing.
  4. 04Keep one full change of clothes and your medication in your day pack, never in checked luggage.
  5. 05Write the list down after the trip. Your next one will be significantly better.
