Explortaion is an independent travel and exploration guide. We write for people who want to see more of the world without relying on packaged tours or sponsored lists.
What we publish
Our guides fall into six categories:
- Destinations — practical guides to places worth visiting, with itineraries, transport tips, and timing advice.
- Travel Tips — skills that make travel cheaper, safer, and more enjoyable.
- Gear — packing lists and buying advice for backpacks, cameras, camp kits, and more.
- Trip Planning — step-by-step frameworks for building routes, budgets, and timelines.
- Safety — advice for solo travelers, outdoor adventurers, and anyone heading somewhere unfamiliar.
- Explorer Stories — first-hand accounts and lessons from the road.
How we work
We research every guide using official tourism sites, government travel advisories, park services, and firsthand knowledge where possible. We do not accept payment for placement in our guides, and we do not sell tours, insurance, or gear.
When a route, rule, or recommendation changes, we update the guide and bump the reviewed date.
What we are not
Explortaion is not a travel agency. We do not process bookings, store passport details, or arrange itineraries on your behalf. For visas, permits, and official travel advice, always check the relevant government or tourism website.
