First-hand accounts, honest mistakes, and the things guidebooks leave out.
We publish reader trip reports that are specific, useful and true. That usually means: what you planned, what actually happened, what it cost, and what you would do differently.
What we look for
- Specific detail: trail names, costs, timings, altitudes, and the thing that went wrong.
- An honest account rather than a promotional one. We do not publish pieces that promote a business, tour operator or accommodation provider.
- Something a reader could act on: a route, a budget, a gear decision, a mistake to avoid.
- Your own photographs, or none at all. We do not use stock or AI imagery for reader stories.
- Between 700 and 1,500 words. Longer is fine if every paragraph earns its place.
What happens next
- 01Send your story using the form below, or email it to us directly.
- 02We read everything and reply within the stated response time, even if the answer is no.
- 03If we publish it, we edit for clarity and fact-check anything measurable. You see the edit before it goes live.
- 04We credit you by name or by a pen name — your choice. We do not publish your email address.
We do not pay for submissions and we do not accept payment to publish them. Reader stories are labelled as such so they are never confused with our own researched guides.
