Editorial Policy

How guides are researched, how often they are reviewed, and how corrections are handled.

This policy explains how Explortaion researches, writes, and maintains its travel guides.

Independence

Explortaion is funded by advertising, not by tourism boards, tour operators, or gear brands. We do not accept payment in exchange for coverage, placement, or positive reviews. Affiliate links, where present, are clearly marked and do not influence our recommendations.

Research

Every guide is researched using a mix of official sources, firsthand experience, traveler reports, and reputable publications. We prioritize official tourism websites, government travel advisories, park services, and established guidebooks.

Updates and corrections

We review and update guides at least once per year, and sooner when a route, rule, or price changes significantly. Each guide shows a published date and a reviewed date.

If you spot an error, use the contact page. Verified corrections are applied promptly and noted when they affect practical advice.

Transparency

When a guide is based on limited or secondhand information, we say so. We do not present speculation as fact, and we distinguish between personal opinion and verified information.

Advertising

Advertisements may appear on our pages. They are served by third-party networks and are separate from our editorial content. Advertisers do not review or approve our guides.
